They should have led the way in helping drive innovation, growth and excellence in the market. Delighted to present the five finalists / nominees:
Bharti Airtel: With revenues reaching USD 12.9 billion in 2023, a growth rate of ~12% (the second highest in the industry), and a commendable EBITDA margin of 53.7% (top 5 in the industry) makes it a worthwhile contender. The growth reflects a strong performance across all business segments, mobile, fixed, TV, enterprise.
China Mobile: The largest telco in APAC, boasting a revenue of ~USD 141 billion and growing at 7.7%, China Mobile leads with the largest enterprise and non-connectivity business.
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison: Leading the industry with the highest EBITDA growth of 21.7% and close to double-digit revenue growth at 9.6%. Indosat has effectively delivered a successful merger to enhance rural connectivity and develop significant partnerships, boosting its network and service offerings.
Reliance Jio: A trailblazer redefining the industry operating model with revenues totaling USD 12.8 billion, matching Bharti with a growth of ~12%. Strategic initiatives like JioBharat Phone and JioAirFiber were instrumental in attracting new subscribers and bolstering their digital services business revenue.
XL Axiata: The highest revenue growth of ~11% in one of Asia's fiercely competitive low ARPU markets, making it the third fastest in the Asia behind the Indian telcos. The growth was achieved through investments in network infrastructure and improved customer experience resulting in market share gain.
